Final Day. 5 Kids at the Airport. Friday, April 5.

Lise, Tom, and Alaia spent Thursday night at Hotel Nia, the new hotel on Facebook's Menlo Park campus. When Tom drove Alaia to join her cousins at the Marriott near SJC, Alaia got to sit in the front seat for the first time in her life!

Alaia joined her cousins for a hotel lobby breakfast of waffles and bagels and even oatmeal with syrup and maybe some fruit loops (Tom wasn't around so can't say for sure).

Zahra and Mike checked 7 days of camping luggage, then Zahra breezed through security with 4 kids while Mike returned the motorhome (Alaia and Tom played a minor supporting role).

The kids got to play some games.

Benny felt a lot better.

Oh! And Alaia flew down to Los Angeles ALONE to visit Opa and Nana. It was Alaia's first solo flight. She sat next to a very nice lady who helped her, so Alaia didn't even call the flight attendant once. Alaia watched Mary Poppins on the flight, from "A Spoonful of Sugar" to "Feed the Birds," though "Feed the Birds" hadn't started yet. Supposedly, Alaia took photos of this kind stranger with her iPad, but I haven't seen those yet.
